Cooltech fat-freezing machine: what to know

The machine supports cryolipolysis: an applicator cools a fold of tissue selected during a clinical assessment. The clinician chooses the treatment site and checks the skin, tissue thickness and surrounding anatomy. The goal is a change in contour where a localized bulge is suitable; the procedure does not treat all causes of fullness.

A session may involve suction, pressure, intense cold, pulling or tingling. The skin can look red or swollen afterward, and bruising, tenderness or numbness may occur. The body contour changes over time, so an immediate mirror check cannot show the completed effect.

Ask who will assess you, which applicator will be used and how the machine is maintained. Tell the clinician about cold sensitivity, circulation problems, reduced sensation, a nearby hernia, pregnancy, recent procedures and medicines that affect bleeding or bruising.

Take baseline photographs if the clinic recommends them and keep follow-up appointments. Follow the written aftercare plan while the area is tender or numb. Do not assume a branded machine is suitable simply because the same device was used for someone else; anatomy and the source of fullness differ.

Report severe pain, worsening swelling, blisters, a marked color change or persistent troubling numbness to the treating clinic. Seek prompt medical care for fever, pus, spreading redness, breathing or swallowing difficulty, or a firm area that enlarges rather than settling.
