CO2 surface laser uses carbon dioxide laser energy to resurface selected skin, helping improve texture, scars, and some visible sun damage while requiring planned healing time. The device may remove a controlled amount of the outer skin or create precise columns of heat, depending on whether the treatment is ablative or fractional. A consultation is needed to match the settings and treatment pattern to your skin, the area being treated, and the change you want to address.

Surface laser refers to treatment aimed at the skin rather than a deeper surgical procedure. CO2 energy is absorbed by water in skin cells, allowing a clinician to vaporise very small areas or heat tissue in a controlled pattern.
