Chin Filler for Overbite: What to Know

An overbite may involve the way the upper and lower teeth meet, the position of the jaws, or both. Filler works in the soft tissue over the chin. By adding carefully placed volume, it can make the lower face look more balanced from the side. It does not move teeth, reshape bone, improve chewing, or treat jaw discomfort.

A consultation should separate a cosmetic profile concern from a bite problem. An orthodontist or oral and maxillofacial specialist may be appropriate when teeth do not meet comfortably, the jaw clicks or locks, or eating is difficult. The injector also needs to assess chin shape, skin, existing filler, and facial movement.
