Cellulite around the knees: what to know

Cellulite on the upper arms may appear as shallow dimples, rippling or uneven texture. Its visibility changes with posture, muscle tension, lighting, camera angle and skin hydration. A convincing comparison uses similar clothing, distance, lighting and arm position, with enough time after treatment for temporary swelling or redness to settle. A smoother image does not necessarily mean every dimple has disappeared.

Have a qualified clinician examine the arm rather than choosing from a photograph alone. Depending on whether the main issue is laxity, surface texture or tethered dimples, options may include Radiofrequency Skin Tightening, RF Microneedling, Carboxytherapy or Subcision. Ask how many visits may be considered, when changes are assessed, and what aftercare protects the treated skin. Take your own baseline photographs in consistent conditions if you want to compare progress.

Contact the treating clinic if pain, swelling, heat, blistering or redness is worsening rather than settling, or if drainage develops. New widespread redness with fever or feeling unwell needs prompt medical assessment because it may indicate infection, not an expected cosmetic change. Sudden one-sided arm swelling also deserves medical review.

Ask which feature is being treated, how the result will be measured, and what temporary changes are normal after the procedure. Also ask to see examples relevant to your skin type and arm area, plus the signs that mean you should pause treatment and call the clinic.
