What should you know about carbuncle on foot?

A carbuncle is a deeper infection involving several neighbouring follicles. On the foot, pressure from shoes, sweating, a blister, or a small unnoticed wound can keep the skin irritated. Redness, warmth, swelling, tenderness, and drainage are possible. A corn, infected blister, ulcer, or foreign-body reaction can look similar, particularly when sensation is reduced.

Arrange medical advice and reduce pressure by wearing roomy footwear or resting the affected foot. Clean gently, dry carefully, and cover any drainage with clean gauze. Do not cut the skin, squeeze the lump, or walk barefoot if the area may be contaminated. Check the surrounding skin without picking at it.
