What should you know about carboxytherapy before and after?

Carboxytherapy introduces carbon dioxide into selected tissue through clinical equipment. The treated area may feel tight, warm, tender, or swollen for a short period, depending on the site and technique. Small needle marks or bruising can also occur. These effects should be explained before treatment, along with the intended cosmetic change and its limits. A photograph taken in similar lighting and position can make gradual changes easier to judge, but pictures cannot replace an examination.

Tell the clinician about medicines and supplements that affect bleeding, allergies, skin infections, poor healing, pregnancy, and previous reactions to injections. Follow the clinic's instructions about cleansing, makeup, exercise, heat, and touching the area. Keep the skin clean, avoid picking at needle marks, and use only products recommended for the treated site. Attend any planned review so the response can be assessed before another session is considered.

Contact the treating clinic for pain that is becoming stronger, swelling that continues to expand, increasing redness or warmth, discharge, fever, persistent bleeding, or skin that becomes unusually pale, dark, or numb. Seek emergency care for breathing difficulty, chest pain, fainting, facial weakness, or new vision changes. Keep a record of when the symptom started and whether it is spreading.

Ask what result is realistic for your concern, how many appointments may be considered, how long tenderness may last, and which activities or products to pause. Confirm who to contact outside clinic hours and whether your medical history changes the plan.
