What should you know about Candela Q-switched laser?

Q-switched technology stores energy and releases it in a short burst. The pulse can break up selected pigment particles so the body can clear them gradually, while settings are chosen to limit unnecessary heating. It may be used for certain pigmented lesions or tattoo colours, but suitability depends on the diagnosis, pigment depth, skin tone, and treatment history. Laser Toning is a related treatment approach that uses laser energy for selected tone concerns; it is not interchangeable with every Q-switched application.

Before treatment, report recent tanning, active skin disease, cold sores, medicines, pregnancy, and any previous colour change or scarring after procedures. Keep the area protected from sunlight and follow instructions about shaving, creams, and makeup. Afterward, use gentle care and do not scratch, scrub, or remove crusts. Your clinician should explain the target, expected skin response, eye protection, and how treatment decisions will be reviewed between visits.

Contact the clinic for increasing pain, spreading redness, pus, fever, marked swelling, or blisters that are worsening.
