What should you know about breast increase fat transfer?

Fat transfer, also called fat grafting or lipofilling, involves removing fat with liposuction from a donor area, processing it, and placing it into selected breast areas. It may be considered for contour adjustment, asymmetry, reconstruction, or a natural-feeling addition of volume. The amount that can be transferred depends on available donor fat, breast tissue, skin quality, and the desired shape.

Some of the transferred fat may not remain, and the final contour develops as swelling settles. Fat cells can also form firm areas or oil cysts that need assessment. This procedure is different from an implant operation, and it is not suitable for every goal or body type.

Choose a properly qualified surgeon who can examine your breasts, review medical history, and explain alternatives. Ask how the donor site and breast will be managed, what imaging is advised, and how changes will be followed. Follow instructions about washing, compression garments, movement, medication, and returning to exercise.

Expect bruising, swelling, and tenderness in both the breast and donor area during recovery. Attend follow-up visits and report any new breast lump rather than assuming it is part of healing. Dermal Fillers and Lip Fillers are separate injectable treatments and are not substitutes for breast fat transfer.

Contact the surgical team promptly for increasing redness, warmth, drainage, fever, worsening pain, shortness of breath, or one-sided swelling. A new firm area, skin discoloration, or wound problem also merits review. Urgent symptoms such as chest pain or severe breathing difficulty require emergency care.
