What should you know about an Aquasure HydraFacial?

The immediate aim is usually smoother, cleaner-looking, hydrated skin. It cannot remove deep scars or replace medical treatment for acne, rosacea, eczema, infection, or a changing skin lesion.

A handpiece moves over the skin while fluid and controlled suction loosen oil and superficial dead skin. The operator may change tips or topical solutions according to the area and concern. Aquasure describes a device platform, while HydraFacial is also used as a branded name; clinics should state which machine and products they actually use.

Mild tightness, pinkness, or sensitivity may occur afterward. Strong suction, aggressive exfoliation, or an unsuitable solution can aggravate fragile capillaries, active inflammation, or a damaged skin barrier.

Tell the provider about prescription creams, recent peels or energy-based procedures, allergies, cold sores, active breakouts, and sensitivity to acids or fragrance. Postpone treatment over open wounds, weeping rashes, sunburn, or a suspected infection until the skin is assessed and recovered.

For aftercare, cleanse gently, moisturise, and use broad-spectrum sun protection. Avoid scrubs, picking, and additional exfoliating products while the skin feels tender. If a clinic combines the facial with another procedure, follow the more restrictive aftercare instructions.

Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, facial or tongue swelling, faintness, or widespread blistering after exposure to a topical product. These are not expected effects of exfoliation.

Ask for prompt clinical advice if pain intensifies, swelling continues to expand, blisters or crusting develop, redness spreads, or the treated skin produces discharge. New darkening or lightening that persists also deserves review, particularly if your skin marks easily after inflammation.

Ask which device, tip, exfoliating solution, and serum will touch your skin, and whether any ingredient conflicts with your allergies or current routine. Request an explanation of how suction and exfoliation will be adjusted for sensitive areas and what the provider will do if irritation develops.
