14 days post embryo transfer: your test and care plan

The team may use a blood hCG test, a urine test or a protocol specific to your cycle. Follow its chosen date because transfer timing and previous fertility medicines affect how a result should be read.

A properly timed test provides more useful information than nausea, cramps, spotting or breast soreness. Hormonal treatment can imitate early pregnancy sensations, and lack of symptoms does not rule out pregnancy.

A detected hCG result confirms that the hormone is present but does not by itself show pregnancy location or ongoing development. Depending on the result and your history, the clinic may monitor hCG over time and schedule an ultrasound when it can answer the next clinical question.

Use every prescribed medicine according to its label until your care team gives explicit directions. Contact the clinic if medication ran out, was stored incorrectly or was missed; the advice may differ between injections, vaginal preparations and tablets.

Record any home test date, result and recent trigger injection so the team has context. Maintain comfortable activity, fluids and regular meals, and check before adding over-the-counter remedies or herbal products while pregnancy remains possible.

Inform the fertility clinic promptly about worsening cramps, fresh bleeding that is becoming heavier, troublesome abdominal distension, repeated vomiting or reduced urine output. A clinician can decide whether examination, blood tests or imaging are appropriate.

Severe pelvic or abdominal pain, pain focused on one side, shoulder-tip pain, faintness, collapse, chest discomfort or breathlessness warrants urgent medical evaluation. These red flags matter regardless of whether a pregnancy test is positive, negative or still pending.
