What should you know about persistent af?

Here, AF may refer to asthma-related symptoms such as recurring cough, chest tightness or wheezing. Asthma involves sensitive, narrowed airways; symptoms can vary with exercise, infections, smoke, dust, pollen or cold air. Allergic rhinitis and house dust mite allergy can add nose and airway irritation. A symptom pattern alone cannot confirm asthma, and persistent cough may also reflect another condition.

Seek urgent help if breathing becomes severely difficult, speaking is hard, lips look blue or grey, you feel faint, or prescribed reliever treatment is not helping as expected. Do not drive yourself if you are struggling to breathe. New chest tightness that is severe, sudden or associated with sweating or collapse also needs emergency assessment.
