White bumps under eyes that are not milia

Location, firmness, colour, and symptoms help separate look-alike conditions. A bump that is tiny, firm, and unchanged may be a keratin-filled cyst, while a softer or inflamed spot can reflect a blocked pore or irritation. Whiteheads commonly have a visible surface opening; milia usually feel like firm beads beneath the surface. A cluster, recent product change, rubbing, or eye-area inflammation can point toward a different explanation. A clinician can inspect the lesion without assuming that every white bump is milia.

Use a gentle cleanser and avoid scrubs, needles, squeezing, or home extraction near the eye. Pause a newly introduced eye product if it stings or seems linked to the bumps, and avoid applying acne medicines close to the eyelid unless a clinician directs you. Take a clear photograph and note whether the bumps change, itch, or become tender.
