What does PRP for hair loss treat?

PRP uses a prepared portion of your own blood, placed into targeted areas of the scalp through injections. The aim is to provide signalling substances around existing follicles and support their growth activity. It may be considered for male pattern hair loss or female pattern hair loss, where follicles gradually produce finer hairs. It may also be discussed in selected cases of telogen effluvium, but sudden shedding can have several triggers and needs proper evaluation. PRP cannot restore a follicle that is no longer present, and it does not correct a nutritional, hormonal, inflammatory or scarring cause by itself.
