Short answer

Valley labs electrosurgery generally refers to electrosurgery performed with a clinical electrosurgical unit, using controlled heat to cut, coagulate, or destroy selected skin tissue under professional supervision.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What electrosurgery involves

During electrosurgery, an electrode delivers electrical energy that becomes heat in a targeted area. Depending on the purpose, the clinician may cut tissue, seal small blood vessels, or destroy a superficial growth. Local anaesthetic is often used when appropriate, and the treated area may form a crust as it heals.

The technique is used for selected skin lesions and can be part of care for genital warts, among other conditions. It is different from simply applying a cream: the clinician must identify the lesion, choose suitable settings, and protect surrounding skin.

Preparing and caring for the area

Tell the clinician about implanted electrical devices, bleeding problems, medicines that affect clotting, allergies, pregnancy, and any active infection near the treatment site. Follow the instructions about washing, dressing, and activity after the procedure. Keep the area clean, avoid picking the crust, and protect healing skin from friction and unnecessary sun exposure.

Mild tenderness, redness, swelling, or drainage can occur during early healing. Do not apply antiseptics, acids, or other active products unless the treating clinician recommends them. Attend follow-up if tissue needs checking or if the diagnosis was uncertain.

When to seek care

Contact the treating service for bleeding that does not settle with firm gentle pressure, increasing pain, spreading redness, pus, fever, worsening swelling, or a wound that is not healing as expected. Seek urgent help for heavy bleeding, severe weakness, breathing difficulty, or a rapidly developing allergic reaction.

Questions for your doctor

What is being treated, and why is electrosurgery suitable? Will a sample be sent for examination? How should I dress and clean the site? Which medicines or devices could affect the procedure? What change should prompt an earlier review?

Questions people ask

Is electrosurgery suitable for every skin growth?

No. The diagnosis, location, depth, size, and surrounding skin determine whether it is appropriate. Some lesions need another treatment or tissue examination.

Can genital warts return after electrosurgery?

Treatment removes visible tissue but may not remove the underlying viral infection, so new lesions can occur. Follow-up and sexual-health advice may be useful.
