What should you know about ResurFX fractional laser?

ResurFX is a 1550nm erbium glass fractional laser. Instead of treating every cell across the surface, it places narrow columns of thermal injury among untreated skin. The treated areas then heal and remodel, which may improve uneven texture, selected scars, fine lines or stretch marks. Because the surface is usually preserved more than with fully ablative resurfacing, recovery may be lighter, although redness, swelling, roughness and sensitivity are still possible.

During consultation, mention active rashes, acne, cold sores, recent sun exposure, pigment changes, medicines and previous laser procedures. Follow instructions about pausing irritating skincare and avoiding tanning. Afterward, cleanse gently, moisturise as advised and protect the area from sunlight. Do not scratch, scrub or restart strong actives until the clinician confirms that the barrier has recovered. A series of sessions may be proposed when the concern needs cumulative remodelling.

Ask the clinic to review increasing pain, spreading redness, pus, fever, extensive blistering or swelling that continues to intensify. Eye pain or visual change needs urgent assessment when treatment was close to the eyes. Temporary redness and a rough, sandpaper-like feel can be expected, but worsening symptoms should not be managed by adding unapproved creams.
