The thin skin beneath the eye can show a milia cyst clearly. The cyst forms when keratin is held beneath the outer layer, creating a smooth white, cream, or skin-toned bump. It may stay the same for a long time without itching or pain. Under-eye bumps can also come from blocked glands, irritation, or other conditions, so a photograph or online description cannot settle the diagnosis. Note whether the spot is firm, tender, red, or associated with swelling.

Cleanse with lukewarm water and a mild product, pat dry, and avoid rubbing the area. Do not squeeze or pierce the bump, even if it resembles a whitehead.
