Milia Causes in Adults: What to Know

Adult milia may develop on otherwise healthy skin, or after a rash, blister, burn, procedure, or repeated irritation has disrupted the surface. Changes in skincare can make small cysts easier to notice, but adult milia are not proof that a particular product caused them. The appearance can overlap with whiteheads and other skin bumps, so an examination is useful when the pattern is new, unusual, or spreading.
