Ludwig female hair loss: what to know

The Ludwig description refers to how thinning is distributed, not to a single confirmed disease. The central part may look wider, the crown may appear less dense, and the front hairline may remain relatively preserved. Female Pattern Hair Loss can present in this way, but shedding after illness or stress, alopecia areata, scalp ringworm, and traction alopecia can create other patterns or overlap with it. Most people with female pattern hair loss notice gradual reduction in density rather than one isolated bald patch.
