Milia are firm white or skin-coloured bumps, often found around the eyelids, cheeks, or nose. They form when keratin becomes trapped beneath the surface and are different from ordinary acne, although several facial bumps can look alike. Whiteheads are usually associated with blocked pores and may have a different texture. New milia can follow skin irritation or injury, while some appear without an obvious trigger.
