Seek clarification if a report mentions a finding that could affect an immediate treatment decision.

Ask what sample is being tested, which genes are covered, whether the result concerns inherited or tumour-only changes, how uncertain findings are handled, when results are expected, and whether relatives or a genetic counsellor should be involved.
