What the scan assesses
The scan can show whether a cyst is fluid-filled, solid, or has mixed features. It may also assess the cyst’s edges, internal partitions, blood flow and relationship to the ovary. These details help a clinician consider whether the appearance is likely to be functional, whether it needs monitoring, or whether further assessment is appropriate.
