How hepatitis A affects the body

The liver processes nutrients, handles many medicines, and helps move bile into the digestive system. Bile handling can change urine and stool colour and may cause yellowing of the eyes or skin.

Hepatitis A is not the same as every other type of viral hepatitis, so the specific diagnosis matters.
