What should you know about bronchial asthma symptoms?

Short answer
Bronchial asthma symptoms commonly include wheezing, cough, chest tightness and breathlessness that vary over time.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How symptoms can appear
Asthma symptoms may be mild at first or noticeable during exercise, at night, after waking, or around an irritant. A dry or mucus-producing cough can be the main presentation for some people. Wheezing is a whistling sound during breathing, while chest tightness can feel like pressure or difficulty taking a full breath. Symptoms may improve and then return, particularly after a respiratory infection. The pattern supports assessment, but symptoms overlap with other causes of breathing difficulty.
What to do when symptoms occur
Record when symptoms start, what you were doing, possible exposures and whether they interrupt sleep or activity. Follow your prescribed reliever instructions and use a spacer if one has been recommended. A clinician can check inhaler technique and decide whether regular treatment is needed. Reduce exposure to smoke and other known irritants. Persistent cough deserves assessment, including when it resembles Chronic Cough.
When symptoms are urgent
Get emergency help for severe or rapidly worsening breathlessness, blue or grey lips, inability to speak in full sentences, faintness, confusion, or poor response to your prescribed reliever. While waiting, remain upright and follow your action plan. Do not wait for wheezing to appear: a very quiet chest with severe effort can also signal dangerous airflow limitation.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether your symptom pattern fits asthma, which signs mean your control is worsening, whether you need breathing tests, and how to use your reliever during a flare.
