Chinese medicine and adenomyosis

If acupuncture helps you relax or cope with discomfort, it may be used alongside a medical plan when delivered hygienically by a suitably trained practitioner. It should not delay investigation of heavy bleeding, worsening pain, anaemia symptoms, or a new change in your periods.

Herbal mixtures can have active drug-like effects. Their ingredients and strength may vary, and they can cause adverse effects or interact with pain medicines, hormonal treatment, blood-thinning medicines, anaesthesia, and fertility care.

Show your doctor and pharmacist the exact packaging and full ingredient list for every tea, powder, capsule, or tincture. Mention pregnancy, attempts to conceive, breastfeeding, liver or kidney problems, allergies, and any planned procedure before starting a preparation.

Choose a practitioner who records ingredients, avoids secret formulas, uses single-use sterile acupuncture needles, and is willing to coordinate with your medical team. Stop a product and seek advice if you develop a rash, swelling, jaundice, unusual bruising, severe digestive symptoms, or worsening bleeding.

Call emergency services for breathing difficulty, facial or throat swelling, collapse, confusion, or chest discomfort after a remedy or treatment. Urgent assessment is also appropriate for very heavy bleeding with faintness, sudden severe pelvic pain, fever, persistent vomiting, or pain when pregnancy is possible.

Ask whether a proposed herb could interact with your medicines, affect bleeding, or need to be stopped before a procedure. Clarify how symptom changes will be tracked and which proven options remain available if complementary care does not help.
