What should you know about wrinkles and crow s feet?

Crow's feet, also called lateral canthal lines, usually radiate from the outer eye corners. They may appear during smiling or squinting and later remain visible at rest. Repeated movement, ultraviolet exposure, smoking, dryness and normal ageing can all affect their depth. Wrinkles elsewhere on the face may have similar contributors but need not respond in the same way.

Seek assessment for a new sore, scaly, bleeding or rapidly changing mark near the eye. Get urgent help for eye pain, vision change, sudden eyelid drooping, facial weakness or severe swelling after treatment. Increasing redness, discharge or fever also warrants prompt review.
