Why does melanoma cause changing mole?

A melanoma may expand through the skin and produce pigment unevenly, changing a mole’s size, outline, colour, or surface. Changing Mole is a common presentation of Melanoma. Changes can include a border that becomes less regular, shades of brown, black, red, blue, or white, a raised area, scaling, crusting, itching, or bleeding. Many changing moles have other explanations, including irritation, hormonal influence, or an ordinary mole being noticed after a long interval. Take a clear photograph in good light and record the date, location, and features you notice. Avoid picking, shaving over, or applying irritating products to the mole. A clinician can compare the lesion with the rest of your skin, use magnification, and decide whether monitoring or a biopsy is appropriate.
