Under-eye mono threads: what to know

A trained medical practitioner assesses the skin, hollows, puffiness, asymmetry, and the cause of the concern before discussing options. After cleansing and local anaesthetic, a sterile, smooth thread may be guided through the tissue with a fine needle or cannula. Mono threads do not provide the lifting effect of barbed threads; the intended change is gradual skin support rather than a dramatic repositioning. Temporary tenderness, swelling, bruising, tightness, or small entry marks can occur. Results vary with skin quality, anatomy, thread placement, and healing.

Choose a licensed provider who can explain the material, placement, alternatives, aftercare, and expected limitations. Share allergies, medicines, bleeding problems, previous procedures, active skin conditions, and any tendency to scar. Follow the provider’s instructions about cleansing, makeup, exercise, heat, pressure, and sleeping position. Do not massage or press the treated area unless specifically told to do so. Contact the treating clinic promptly if pain, redness, warmth, swelling, or discharge is worsening rather than settling, or if a thread becomes visible or migrates. Seek urgent help for vision changes, severe eye pain, rapidly increasing swelling, breathing difficulty, or signs of a serious allergic reaction. Fever or feeling generally unwell after the procedure also deserves medical advice. These symptoms are not explained by ordinary mild bruising alone.
