The device delivers light absorbed mainly by pigment in the hair, warming the follicle and reducing its ability to produce a strong hair. Follow the clinic’s shaving and sun-protection instructions, and avoid plucking or waxing when advised because the follicle is the target. After treatment, mild warmth or redness can occur. Use gentle skincare, avoid rubbing and heat until the skin settles, and protect the area from sunlight. Do not apply a strong active product unless your clinician says it is appropriate.

Contact the treating clinic for increasing pain, marked swelling, blistering, crusting, pus, or redness that keeps spreading. Urgent care is appropriate for facial swelling, widespread hives, or breathing difficulty. A change in hair growth accompanied by irregular periods or other hormonal symptoms should be discussed with a doctor before treating the area.
