What should you know about severe acid reflux medicine?

Different medicines work in different ways: some neutralise acid for short relief, while others reduce acid production for longer control. The right choice depends on symptom frequency, meal timing, night symptoms, other medicines, and medical conditions.

Arrange a review when symptoms remain severe, return soon after treatment, disturb sleep, or require frequent non-prescription medicine. A new or persistent Cough also deserves assessment rather than repeated dose changes.
