How to reduce the appearance of large pores

Short answer
You cannot erase pores, but consistent skincare and selected treatments can make large pores look less visible by reducing congestion and improving skin texture.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Why pores look large
Pore visibility is influenced by oil, trapped dead skin, inflammation, skin texture and loss of firmness. Acne can leave uneven texture, while Sun-Damaged Skin can reduce the support around pore openings. Lighting, makeup and dehydration can also change how noticeable they appear.
A pore is a normal opening for a hair follicle and oil gland. Scrubbing, squeezing or using harsh products may irritate the surrounding skin and make texture look more obvious.
What may help
Use a gentle cleanser, non-comedogenic moisturiser and daily broad-spectrum sunscreen. A clinician may recommend Topical Retinoids to improve cell turnover and congestion; introduce them gradually because irritation can worsen visible texture. Treat active acne rather than repeatedly extracting pores.
Microneedling may improve uneven texture by creating controlled skin injury that supports new collagen formation. It is not appropriate for every skin condition or active infection, so professional assessment matters. Results are gradual and maintenance skincare remains useful.
When to seek care
See a dermatologist if enlarged-looking pores appear with persistent acne, painful spots, scarring, sudden redness, scaling or a rash that does not settle. Seek advice quickly for swelling, blistering or severe irritation after a product or procedure.
Questions for your doctor
Is oil, acne, sun damage or laxity the main contributor? Which products suit my skin, how should I introduce them, and would Microneedling help my texture without worsening pigmentation or irritation?
