Possible explanations

Friction, a small surface tear, dryness or inflammation can cause light bleeding. Bleeding after sex is also a possible presentation of chlamydia, cervical dysplasia or genitourinary syndrome of menopause. Less commonly, it can occur with cervical or vaginal cancer.
