Short answer

Radiesse hand injections can restore some volume on the backs of the hands while supporting collagen production, but suitability and technique need an experienced medical injector.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What the treatment involves

Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite injectable used beneath the skin. In the hands, a clinician places it in carefully selected planes to soften the look of tendons, veins and hollows caused by reduced soft-tissue volume. The goal is a smoother, fuller appearance without making the hands look swollen.

Temporary tenderness, bruising, redness or swelling can occur after injections. Hand anatomy is delicate, so product placement, conservative correction and an assessment of circulation matter. Results can develop as the initial swelling settles and the material stimulates a longer-term tissue response.

How to prepare and recover

Choose a licensed clinician who regularly treats hands and can explain the product, injection depth and aftercare. Share allergies, medical conditions, medicines, previous fillers and any history of unusual reactions. Do not attend with an active skin infection or unexplained swelling in the treatment area.

Follow the clinic's instructions after treatment. Keep the area clean, avoid pressure or strenuous hand use for the advised period, and do not massage unless your injector specifically recommends it. Arrange review if the correction looks uneven after swelling has reduced.

When to seek prompt help

Contact the treating clinic promptly for worsening pain, increasing warmth, marked swelling, spreading redness, skin colour change, blisters, numbness or reduced movement. Seek urgent medical care for severe pain, pale or dusky skin, sudden weakness, breathing difficulty or signs of a serious allergic reaction; do not wait for a routine review.

Questions for your doctor

Ask which hand changes can realistically be improved, why Radiesse is being chosen, where it will be placed, what alternatives are available, how swelling will be managed, and what symptoms require same-day contact.

Questions people ask

Will Radiesse hand injections remove every visible vein?

No. Veins and tendons may remain visible, and the degree of softening depends on anatomy and available tissue volume.

Can hand injections be repeated?

A clinician can assess the result after healing and decide whether further treatment is appropriate.
