What should you know about Pure Fit laser hair removal?

Short answer
Pure Fit laser hair removal is a follicle-targeting treatment that needs an appropriate laser, careful settings, and repeated appointments for hair reduction.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.
At a glance
- Mechanism
- Light heats pigment near the hair follicle
- Preparation
- Avoid plucking and disclose tanning, medicines, and skin conditions
What the treatment does
Laser energy is absorbed by pigment in the hair and converted to heat near the follicle. Because follicles cycle through growth phases, one appointment cannot target every hair equally; a planned series allows treatment to meet more follicles during a responsive phase. Hair often becomes finer or grows more slowly, while hormonal changes can influence future regrowth.
Alexandrite, diode, and Nd:YAG lasers use different wavelengths and may suit different combinations of skin tone, hair pigment, and body area. A consultation should include a skin examination, medical history, recent tanning, medicines, and any tendency toward pigment changes or scarring.
Preparing for treatment
Follow the clinic’s instructions about shaving, sun avoidance, and products. Avoid waxing, plucking, or epilating for the period advised because the follicle needs a target. Tell the clinician about recent tanning, active rash, cold sores, medicines that increase light sensitivity, and a history of dark marks after injury.
During treatment, cooling and protective eyewear may be used. Afterwards, the area can feel warm and look temporarily red around follicles. Use gentle skin care, avoid unnecessary heat or friction, and protect the area from sun. Do not judge the outcome immediately; treated hairs shed on their own schedule.
When to seek care
Contact the treating clinic for increasing pain, blistering, crusting, pus, spreading redness, or pigment change that persists or worsens. Eye pain or visual symptoms require urgent assessment. New coarse hair growth with acne, voice change, or menstrual irregularity warrants medical evaluation for a hormonal cause. Recurrent bumps after shaving may be ingrown hairs or razor bumps and may need a separate plan.
Questions for your doctor
Ask which wavelength fits your skin and hair, who will set the device, how tanning changes the plan, and what aftercare is needed. Ask whether hidradenitis suppurativa, hirsutism, keratosis pilaris, or recurrent ingrown hairs changes the goal or treatment sequence.

Questions people ask
Will laser hair removal stop all hair forever?
No. It is intended to reduce regrowth, and remaining or new hairs can require maintenance treatment.
Which laser is suitable for darker skin?
Suitability depends on your skin tone, hair pigment, tanning, and clinician assessment; wavelength and settings must be selected individually.
