What should you know about Profound RF microneedling?

Unlike ordinary microneedling, this treatment adds radiofrequency energy beneath the skin. A clinician adjusts needle depth and energy for the area and concern being treated. The controlled injury and heat signal the skin to repair and reorganise collagen. It may be considered for texture, fine lines, selected scars or mild laxity, but it cannot correct every cause of uneven skin.

The device, settings and operator experience matter. Your assessment should include active acne, infection, eczema or dermatitis, a history of unusual scarring, implanted devices and medicines that affect healing.

Use the preparation plan supplied by your clinic, including guidance on retinoids, exfoliants, sun exposure and hair removal. Numbing cream may be used. Afterward, expect short-term redness, warmth, swelling, sensitivity or pinpoint marks. Avoid picking, vigorous rubbing and unapproved active products while the skin recovers. Apply sun protection as directed and return to exercise, swimming or heat only when advised.

Tell your clinic about increasing pain, spreading redness, marked warmth, pus, blistering, unusual darkening or lightening, or fever. Emergency care is appropriate for breathing difficulty, widespread swelling, collapse or a severe allergic reaction.
