What should you know about PDO under-eye threads?

Under-eye treatment requires careful assessment because shadows, hollowness, fine lines, puffiness, loose skin, and pigment can look similar but have different causes. Threads may support selected tissue and improve the feel or appearance of skin over time; they do not remove fat or correct every eyelid concern. The plan should account for tear trough anatomy, eye health, skin thickness, and your preferred level of change.

Early swelling, bruising, tightness, tenderness, and asymmetry are possible. A thread may occasionally be felt or seen, and persistent redness, a firm inflammatory area, or a changing contour warrants review.

Mention dry eye, allergies, eye disease, recent procedures, medicines, supplements, and previous injectables or threads. Follow instructions about cleansing and products around the eyes. During recovery, avoid rubbing, pressure, strenuous activity, and eye makeup until your clinician says they are appropriate. Keep the follow-up appointment so the eyelid area can be checked as it heals.

Report worsening pain, redness, warmth, discharge, fever, or swelling that is not improving. Seek urgent assessment for vision changes, severe eye pain, double vision, marked eyelid swelling, or trouble moving the eye. Never pull, trim, or massage a thread near the eye yourself.

Ask what is causing the under-eye concern, whether threads address that cause, how placement will protect nearby structures, what alternatives exist, how long restrictions last, and how an unwanted result would be managed.
