What should you know about nexplanon and long periods?

The implant can alter the usual rhythm and amount of menstrual bleeding. Some people have spotting, while others have longer episodes or gaps between bleeds. The pattern does not show whether the implant is working by itself. A clinician may ask about pregnancy possibility, medicines, infection symptoms and previous cycle patterns.

Record bleeding days, flow changes, clots, pain and how the pattern affects daily activities. Keep taking the implant as directed unless a clinician advises removal.
