What should you know about mono threads for face?

After the skin is cleaned and usually numbed, a clinician guides threads into selected facial planes. Smooth threads can create a framework as tissue heals around them. They do not remove loose skin or replace treatment for deep folds, significant volume loss, or medical skin problems.

Facial anatomy matters: nerves, blood vessels, muscles, and the eye area require careful planning. Cosmetic mono threads have no connection with mono, the informal name for glandular fever. If you have fatigue, fever, sore throat, or swollen glands, discuss those symptoms separately with a healthcare professional.

Report increasing pain, spreading redness, heat, discharge, persistent swelling, skin colour change, or a thread that can be seen or felt at the surface. Sudden vision change, severe eye pain, breathing difficulty, or rapidly worsening facial swelling warrants urgent care.
