How symptoms can vary

The amount and pattern of bleeding can differ according to how far the pregnancy has developed and whether tissue has passed. Cramping may come in waves as the uterus contracts. A clinician may ask about dates, bleeding, pain, and pregnancy symptoms, then use examination, pregnancy testing, or a Transvaginal Ultrasound to clarify the diagnosis.
