What should you know about mid flank pain?

Flank pain sits between the ribs and hip on either side of the back. A strained muscle may hurt when you bend, twist, cough, or touch the area. Kidney Stones can produce sharp waves that move downward, while a Kidney Infection may bring fever, chills, nausea, or a deep constant ache. A Urinary Tract Infection may cause burning, urgency, or frequent urination. Pain can also come from the spine, nerves, ribs, bowel, or skin, so location by itself is not enough to identify the cause.
