Medicine for Burning Skin

Burning or stinging can follow a new product, friction, heat, sun exposure, or an inflamed skin condition. It may occur with redness, scaling, itch, or swelling. Pause newly introduced cosmetics, fragranced products, exfoliants, and active ingredients until the skin settles. Rinse off a suspected irritant, use cool—not icy—compresses, and apply a bland moisturiser if it does not sting. Avoid scratching, heat, and unprescribed medicated creams. Keep a note of exposures and photograph any rash. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, facial or mouth swelling, blistering over a large area, chemical exposure, severe pain, fever, confusion, or rapidly spreading redness. Arrange prompt assessment for one-sided blistering, eye involvement, drainage, increasing warmth, or burning that persists despite stopping a suspected irritant.
