Little White Bump on Eyelid

A firm, pearly bump just under the surface may fit Milia. A spot near the lash line with tenderness, redness, or swelling can involve a blocked eyelid gland rather than a simple surface cyst. Folliculitis can affect hairs around the lid margin, while Heat Rash or other irritation may cause several tiny bumps.

Keratosis Pilaris and Lichen Planus are less typical around the eyelid but may be considered when bumps occur elsewhere or have a distinctive texture. A clinician can distinguish a harmless cyst from a lesion needing treatment by examining the lid and surrounding skin.

Wash the area gently, avoid rubbing, and pause eye makeup or contact lenses if they worsen irritation. Do not pierce, squeeze, scrape, or freeze a bump at home; eyelid skin is delicate and injury can affect the eye. Use a clean warm compress for a tender lid-margin lump, but stop if it increases discomfort.
