What should you know about a LifeLabs vitamin D test?

The laboratory measures a vitamin D marker in your blood. Your clinician considers that finding with your symptoms, food intake, sunlight exposure, medicines and health conditions that affect bones, muscles or absorption. The result can support a diagnosis of low vitamin D, but it cannot by itself identify why you feel tired or sore. Reference ranges and follow-up decisions can vary between people and laboratories.

Before the sample, follow the laboratory's instructions and list every medicine and supplement you use. Ask how you will receive the result and who will explain it. Do not increase a supplement without advice, because excessive intake can also cause harm.
