What should you know about inside mobile mri scanner?

Short answer
Inside a mobile MRI scanner, you undergo the same still, noisy imaging process in a purpose-equipped unit outside a permanent imaging department.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

- Implants and metal must be discussed before entry
What the mobile setting changes
A mobile unit is fitted with an MRI scanner, patient table, controls and safety equipment. You enter the unit, change if needed, complete the safety screening and lie on the table. The table moves into the scanner opening while the technologist operates the system nearby and communicates with you.
The surroundings may feel different from a hospital imaging room, but the scan still uses a strong magnet and radio waves. Loud tapping is normal. Some examinations use contrast through a vein, depending on the body area and the clinical question.
Plan for the appointment
Arrive in time for screening and bring details of implants, metal fragments, previous operations, medicines, pregnancy, kidney problems and contrast reactions. Leave jewellery, watches, cards and other magnetic items outside the scanner area. Follow the unit's instructions about clothing, food and drink. During imaging, remain still, use the call button if needed and tell staff if you feel uncomfortable.
The MRI Scanner page explains the equipment. MRI Scan and Breast MRI provide examples of how MRI may be used. A mobile location does not change the need for the radiologist's report and follow-up with the clinician who requested the scan.
Speak up about symptoms
During the appointment, immediately report burning, pain, unexpected heat, shortness of breath, dizziness or intense distress. After contrast, obtain urgent help for facial or throat swelling, breathing trouble, collapse or a widespread rash. If symptoms appear later, contact the imaging service or a clinician and mention the scan and any contrast medicine.
Questions to ask
Check whether the mobile unit can scan your implant, whether contrast is planned, whether you need to change your usual medicines, how to manage claustrophobia and when the result will reach your care team. Ask who to contact if travel or weather affects the appointment.
Questions people ask
Is a mobile MRI different from a hospital MRI?
The setting is different, but the examination still uses MRI equipment, a strong magnet, radio waves and careful safety screening.
What if I feel trapped inside?
Tell the technologist before or during the scan; you can communicate with staff and use the call button.
