Treatment for infection or skin disease targets the underlying cause. Persistent endometriosis-related deep pain may lead to discussion of laparoscopic excision of endometriosis. Choose comfortable positions and share what feels safe with your partner.

Arrange medical assessment for persistent or worsening pain, bleeding after sex, unusual discharge, sores, fever or pelvic pain. Seek urgent help for severe pain, fainting, heavy bleeding or feeling acutely unwell. Pain after possible sexual exposure also warrants prompt assessment for infection.
