A cherry angioma is a small cluster of blood vessels in the skin. Electrosurgery uses controlled heat from an electrical current to treat the visible lesion. Small lesions may be managed in a brief appointment, while larger or raised lesions can need a different approach. The treated spot may crust before healing, and colour change or a scar can occur. A clinician should confirm that a changing or unusual red spot is a cherry angioma before removal.

Arrange an examination if the spot is new, changing, repeatedly bleeding, painful, or unlike your other lesions.
