Home remedy to treat burn scars

Short answer
Home care can soften dryness and reduce friction around a healed burn scar, but established texture or tightness may need specialist assessment.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How burn scars behave
A burn scar forms as injured skin repairs itself. It may be darker or lighter than nearby skin, raised and firm, indented, itchy, or tight across a joint. A scar can continue changing in appearance and flexibility for a long time after the wound closes. A wound that is still open, wet, blistered, or infected needs wound care rather than scar treatment.
Supportive care at home
Once the skin is fully closed, moisturise gently with a bland, fragrance-free product and avoid picking or vigorous rubbing. Protect the area from sun with clothing or suitable sunscreen because ultraviolet exposure can make colour differences more obvious. Keep clothing from catching on a raised scar. Gentle movement may help preserve comfort near a joint, but do not force a tight area or massage a tender, open, or inflamed surface. For persistent texture or contracture, a clinician may discuss Fractional Laser Treatment, Scar Revision Surgery, or Skin Graft, depending on depth, location, and function.
When to seek care
Obtain medical care for increasing redness, warmth, drainage, fever, new blistering, or worsening pain. Arrange review if the scar restricts movement, cracks repeatedly, becomes increasingly raised or itchy, or interferes with sleep or daily activities. Urgent care is appropriate for a fresh burn, extensive blistering, or a burn involving the face, hands, genitals, or a major joint.
Questions for your doctor
Is this skin fully healed enough for scar care? Is the scar mainly a colour, texture, or tightening problem? Would therapy or a procedure help movement? Which products should I avoid on this area?

Questions people ask
Can home remedies erase a burn scar?
They may improve dryness and comfort, but established colour, raised texture, or tightness may persist and need assessment.
Should I massage every burn scar?
Do not massage an open, tender, blistered, or inflamed area; ask a clinician when gentle scar work is suitable.
