Short answer

Hand injections for wrinkles can soften creases or restore volume, but the product, technique, and risks must be matched to your hands by a qualified clinician.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What the treatment changes

Wrinkles on the backs of the hands can become more noticeable as skin thins and soft-tissue volume decreases. Dermal fillers may add support beneath the skin, while botulinum toxin is used for selected muscle-related lines in other areas and is not interchangeable with filler. Sun exposure also contributes to texture and pigmentation, so injections do not address every sign of photoaging.

Short-lived tenderness, swelling, bruising, or unevenness may follow an injection. The hand contains tendons, vessels, nerves, and joints, making anatomy and injection depth important.

Planning the appointment

Choose a qualified medical injector who examines your skin, medications, allergies, circulation, and previous procedures. Ask which product is proposed, where it will be placed, how long swelling may last, and what aftercare is required. Avoid booking while the skin is infected or inflamed, and follow specific advice about strenuous activity, pressure, and blood-thinning medicines.

When to seek urgent advice

Contact the treating clinic promptly for worsening pain, pale or dusky skin, marked asymmetry, spreading redness, fever, or reduced finger movement. Sudden vision changes, weakness, or severe headache after an injectable procedure require urgent medical assessment.

Questions to ask

Ask whether Dermal Fillers are appropriate, what alternatives exist, how complications are handled, and whether your hand wrinkles are mainly caused by volume loss, skin change, or both.

Questions people ask

Are hand fillers the same as Botox?

No. Dermal fillers add support or volume, while Botox affects selected muscle activity.

Can injections reverse sun damage?

They do not remove all effects of sun damage; Sun-Damaged Skin may need separate care.
