Freckles and Sephora products: what to know

Sephora products may improve the overall look of uneven tone, but they cannot diagnose freckles or safely remove a changing pigmented spot. Cosmetic formulas vary in strength and may irritate sensitive skin. Check an unfamiliar, changing, raised, crusted, itchy, painful, or bleeding mark before treating it as a cosmetic concern.

A cleanser, moisturiser, sunscreen, or brightening product can support the skin barrier and make tone appear more even. It cannot establish whether a mark is a freckle, mole, or another lesion. Ingredients that exfoliate or reduce pigment may sting, cause dryness, or trigger further darkening after irritation, especially on delicate areas.

Introduce one product at a time and follow its label. Patch-test when the product instructions recommend it, stop if burning or swelling develops, and avoid applying facial actives to genital skin unless a clinician specifically advises it.
