On the day of treatment, tiny raised spots, redness, tenderness, or a mild headache can occur around injection points. These often settle as the skin calms. Early results may be subtle because botulinum toxin type A changes nerve signals to targeted muscles progressively rather than acting like a filler.

As the forehead muscles move less, lines made by repeated expression may look softer. The result can vary with dose, muscle strength, facial movement, and whether lines are visible at rest. Botox is designed for movement-related wrinkles; it does not replace volume in a hollow area.

Follow the injector’s personalised instructions. Keep the area clean, avoid rubbing or pressing the injection sites, and postpone strenuous activity or heat exposure if your clinician advises this. Use gentle skincare until tenderness settles, and protect the forehead from sun exposure.

Contact the treating clinic promptly for worsening pain, spreading redness, marked swelling, discharge, or fever. Seek urgent medical help for trouble breathing or swallowing, widespread weakness, severe allergic symptoms, or new vision changes. A heavy brow, eyelid droop, or uneven movement should be reported to the injector so it can be assessed.
