Eye treatment for crow's feet

Crow's feet are fine lines at the outer eye that become more noticeable when the circular eye muscle contracts during smiling or squinting. Sun exposure can reduce skin resilience, while gradual changes in collagen and hydration can make etched lines easier to see even when the face is relaxed. The right approach therefore depends on movement, skin texture, pigmentation, eyelid anatomy, and your goals.

Use broad-spectrum sunscreen and sunglasses, and avoid deliberate tanning. A clinician may suggest a carefully selected topical retinoid or moisturiser for skin texture. Botulinum toxin injection can reduce the muscle activity that folds the outer-eye skin; it does not replace sun protection or treat every surface change. Fractional laser treatment can target texture and stimulate remodelling, with recovery depending on the device and settings. Treatment near the eyes requires an experienced medical provider and eye protection.

Discuss whether your lines are dynamic, etched at rest, or accompanied by uneven tone. Combining methods can be reasonable, but treating too many concerns at once may make it harder to identify irritation or an unwanted effect.

Arrange an assessment if lines change suddenly, occur with a new eyelid lump, swelling, rash, pain, vision change, or one-sided facial weakness.
